A memorial plaque
10th anniversary of the School of Special Schools Tarnobrzeg and giving the name of Fr. Jan Twardowski

On May 27th we were celebrating the ceremony of giving the name of Fr. Jan Twardowski to three schools – Special Primary School, Special Gymnasium and ........... which are included in The Association of special schools in Tarnobrzeg. The celebration was joined together with jubilee of the school’s tenth aniversary .

The Mayor of Tarnobrzeg took the honorary patron of the celebrations.

Arrangements for the festivity took several months before. The whole school society was involved including pupils, teachers, parents and school friends. All of them were working very hard to prepare a beautiful performance which was to pay tribute to  priest Twardowski and his poetry and honour special guests invited for the ceremony, among them the school promoter and former headmaster Mrs Eva Kunysz.

Jubilee celebrations were accompanied by many events, including:

* Art competition associated with the patron of the School
* Recitation contest featuring the work of Fr. Jan Twardowski
* Scientific Conference regarding special education
* Exhibition of works by students in the school environment
* Integration events of children and adolescents tarnobrzeskich schools

The naming ceremony began with the Holy Mass where a memorial plaque with a bust of Fr. Jan Twardowski was dedicated by His Excellency Bishop of Diocese of Sandomierz Edward Frankowski. The second part of the ceremony was held in Tarnobrzeg,s  House of Culture. Representatives of the City of Tarnobrzeg,were present as well as education authorities, parents, teachers, graduates and directors of educational institutions.
